China Mobile, Clearwire Enter MOU over International Roaming on TD-LTE
July 20, 2012
China Mobile International, a subsidiary of China Mobile, and Clearwire announced that the two companies have inked a non-binding MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for international roaming services between China and the United States through TD-LTE (Time Division Long Term Evolution), according to a July 18, 2012 press release by Clearwire. As per the MOU, the two companies will launch business and technology collaboration with an attempt to define and establish necessary processes to support international roaming and to ensure telecom operators' systems and devices will provide roaming support. The two companies expect that the MOU will serve as blueprint for future roaming agreements signed with other GTI (Global TD-LTE Initiative) members.
